Northern retains a small, full-time Staff to perform and supervise the day-to-day operation/maintenance work necessary to keep Northern facilities functioning. In order to accomplish all the maintenance work that needs to be done, Northern engages a series of qualified contractors who perform tasks under the supervision of Northern Staff. Most of the Annual Contracts are for specific maintenance work to be performed by the contractor, while others are used to establish rates and parameters for general areas of work as required.
