The Northern Palm Beach County Improvement District is governed by a five-member Board of Supervisors who are elected by the landowners and/or popular vote within Northern’s boundaries.
In May 2010, Governor Crist signed House Bill No. 759, which changes the manner in which Board members are elected to Northern Palm Beach County Improvement District’s (the District) Board of Supervisors. Two more seats, bringing the total to four out of five seats, will be filled by popular vote in the General Election.The remaining Board Member will continue to be elected via ownership of each acre, or fraction of land thereof, one vote. This position is elected at the Annual Landowners’ Meeting, held in November. Office terms for all Supervisor are four years. If a vacancy occurs, the remaining Supervisors fill the vacancy until the next annual election. To learn about the individual Board members see the Northern Board link.
