Phyllis Wehner

Phyllis Wehner joined Northern  in 2025 as an Invasive Species Biologist.

Phyllis is responsible for assisting in the oversight and maintenance of contracts for the management and restoration of  upland preserves and natural areas within the District’s areas of responsibility. She assists with planning, coordinating, and monitoring of invasive vegetation control operations within District natural areas and environmentally sensitive lands.  She works with the Environmental Manager to coordinate and direct field crews to provide maintenance of the diverse preserve ecosystems within Northern's care. 

Phyllis grew up in this area and brings technical expertise and an intimate knowledge of Southeast Florida's delicate ecosystems and the challenges they face. She worked previously at Jonathan Dickinson State Park and Audubon of Martin County, gaining extensive hands-on experience in resource management by identifying and removing invasive and exotic plant species.  Phyllis was also highly involved in environmental education and interpretation to the public.
